A list of connections between Metal Fight Beyblade and Final Fantasy was discovered by admin Falco276, most of them relating to Team Starbreakers, HD Academy, and Final Fantasy VII.
Character connections
Damian Hart and Cloud Strife
- Both of them possess cold isolated personalities and unmistakable sorrow.
- Both of them hold reminiscent canine like spirit (Cloud's Fenrir and Damian's Kerbecks)
- They both are brainwashed by a manipulated incorporation. The only minimal difference is that Damian is affected by the majority of Arrangement (similar concept to Jenova's Arrangement on Sephiroth) while Cloud possess very little bit of it.
Faust and Sephiroth
- They have long silky platinum hair that fall against their backs. Two signature bangs part away from their foreheads and curve around the sides of their face.
- They are all attired with knee length coats, jet black pants and boots.
- They control Time and Space.
- They are manipulated from an incorporation and 'born' from an extraterrestrial life form.
- Both of them had close friendship with the protagonists (Cloud / Zack, Masamune / Zeo) of the respective series before getting their memories wiped away and transgressed into another dark hearted figure.
- They have the hunger to plunder their respective worlds with a weaponized tool of destruction. (ex: Sephiroth's Meteor on Gaia, Faust's Spiral Force on Hades city.)
Zeo Abyss and Zachary 'Zack' Fair
- Both of their first names begin with the same letter.
- It could be possible that both of them had to free (Faust / Sephiroth) from being influenced by the Arrangement.
Jack and Vincent Valentine
- They both have creepy stares and done knee length coats ripped at the edges.
Vince / King and Vincent Valentine

Dr. Ziggurat and Professor Hojo / Rufus Shinra
- Both of them own an incorporation that collects data and energy from their respective planet's lifesource. (Earth / Gaia)
Landmark connections
Hades City and Midgar
- The Spiral Dimension Tower refrences as a stand piece structure in relation and reference to the Shinra Mako Reactor Tower.
- In the concept of creating Midgar, it was first thought to take place in real life New York City, an allusion to where the Dungeon Gym and the HD Academy are located at.
- The blue bolts from the Spiral Core may be similar to the Mako energy that fuels Midgar's industrial electric power.
- Ryuga sending Meteo L-Drago crashing through Hades City mirrors a direct reference to Sephiroth's Meteor plummeting though Midgar. Note the name similarities. Meteo and Meteor.
HD Academy and SOLDIER Academy
- All members are seen dressed similarly with the exception of Team Starbreakers.
Hades Island and Northern Cave
- During the climax of FF7, a clock can be seen in the Northern cave before dueling Sephiroth from the game. This can be another possibility and relation to Faust and his Basalt Horogium.
Weapon connections
Masamune Kadoya and Masamune (katana)
- The prodigy of friendship between Masamune and Toby / Faust reflects Sephiroth's connection to his katana, Masamune.
- Notice both letters start with M and K. Masamune Kadoya. Masamune Katana. Both names could have a relation to each other.
Spiral Fox and the Buster Sword
- Buster Tail (name wise) could refer to Zack's Buster Sword.
Spiral Lyre and Lunar Harp
- Both harps produce red strings, an illusion to the bey's / item's abilities.
Trivia
- Some of the character connections are a directly mirrored from the replacement cast of Back to the Basics.
- It is also possible that both Damian Hart and Vincent Valentine have one thing in common: Cerberus.
