Hikaru Hasama (波佐間ヒカル, Hasama Hikaru) is one of the main protagonists in the Metal Fight Beyblade anime making her debut in Beyblade Metal Fusion as a member of the main cast. She is a serious, calm and helpful Blader who fights with her Beyblade, Storm Aquario 100 HF/S. Beginning in Beyblade Metal Masters she becomes Ryo Hagane's assistant at the WBBA.

Appearance[]

Hikaru Hazama

Hikaru in Season 1

Hikaru looks about 12-13 years in age. She has cool blue hair. Her eyes are a bluish-purple color. She wears a red jacket over a white and blue T-shirt and a pair of tan shorts and brown boots and she wears a choker. Her gloves are white and go up to her wrists. Her belt appears to criss-cross over her shorts and she keeps her beyblade on her right hip.

After her defeat by Ryuga she became Ryo Hagane's assistant and wears a dark blue suit, consisting of a white shirt with yellow buttons running down her chest. Over the shirt she wears a dark blue jacket with white sleeve hems. Matching to the jacket she wears a dark blue skirt. She also wears black high heels. On her left wrist she wears a red ribbon.

Personality[]

Hikaru became such a cold, uninterested beyblader because other bladers kept destroying her hopes to be a good player in tournaments. When she was beaten miserably, she would break down crying while the other boy would just smirk. Her mother though, apparently ill, convinced her that she should never abandon and that determination is everything. After her defeat at the hands of Ryuga, Hikaru seems to have been so deeply traumatized by the event that she is unable to continue beybattling. This is evident in her reaction in episode 73 when she is nearly struck by Tsubasa's attack while his dark side takes over. While she is also shown to be able to fight a beybattle in necessity, Hikaru now prefers to work with the WBBA in order to ensure everyone can have fun Beyblading and nobody will have to make experiences like she did in her childhood. She becomes a lot more gentle over time, but always retains her professional attitude, making her a valuable support to the forgetful and impulsive Ryo.

Backstory[]

Hikaru Hazama is a passionate beyblader who dreams of rising to the top by challenging strong bladers. She comes to Metal Bey City to challenge Gingka but Kenta replaces him and defeats her after being assisted by Benkei.

Beyblade Metal Fusion[]

Hikaru simply wanders around from place to place kind of like a nomad, defeating every beyblader who crosses her way.

She first appears trying to enter Metal Bey City only to be stopped by Benkei Hanawa and the Face Hunters. Much to their shock, she defeats them all causing Face Hunter A to be amazed expect Benkei with ease, expressing her desire to challenge strong bladers. Benkei takes advantage of this and goads her into seeking out Gingka Hagane. Curious, Hikaru searches the city for him. She later trains in a beycollosum hoping that Gingka will give her a challenge. . She has a flashback of when she was little. She was Beyblading but lost. She then talked to her mother and told her that the only way for her to become stronger is to beat opponents stronger than herself. As she comes close to finding her target, she is intercepted by Kenta Yumiya, who pretends to be Gingka and challenges her. Hikaru bests Kenta with little difficulty and losing interest, but he asks for a rematch, offering up his Bey Points to keep her interested. Hikaru agrees and wins again, and repeatedly defeats Kenta until he runs out of points to bet.

Convinced the city has no other worthy opponents and learning that Kenta was impersonating Gingka, Hikaru prepares to leave before Tetsuya Watarigani tells her about who Gingka really is causing her to confront Benkei over this. she tells the Bull Blader that he better prepare 'Gingka', because she challenges him again, confident that she will still win. However, she is stopped by Kenta, who challenges her as himself. She agrees, and their first match ends in a draw. Intrigued by his growth, Hikaru battles him again, but loses once Kenta learns to unleash his Special Move Flame Claw. Satisfied, she acknowledges Kenta before leaving and learning about who Gingka really is after seeing him congregate Kenta. Hikaru stays in Metal Bey City to search for more opponents, and runs into Gingka who was seen beating a beypark blader. Still wanting to experience his strength, she battles him and loses when Pegaus uses it's special move Starblast Attack to attack the real Aquario thanks to Gingka using the sun for help. She gets frustrated at her defeat, but Gingka encourages her to focus more on having fun battling, something she takes to heart. Hikaru then drinks a coffee late at night and notices a beybattle going on though a tornado. She arrives to cheer Gingka on against the former Face Hunters leader Kyoya Tategami. When Rock Leone 145 WB uses a new special move King Lion Tearing Blast, Hiakru and the rest of the crowd gets worried at Gingka losing, but Gingka pulls it together and makes a new move called Meteor Shower Attack which earns him the win causing Hikaru, Tetsuya the Face Hunters and the audience to cheer. They become surprised by Doji's visit afterword's.

Hikaru is next seen in the Survival Battle, where she strike out on her own and battles across the island. She runs into Kyoya and battles him, but the two are interrupted by others bladers. The two team up to take out the intruders, then decide to finish their match later and part ways. Her next opponent is Yu, who challenges her, Benkei, and Kenta to a three-on-one and defeats them all.

After Battle Bladers is announced, Hikaru takes part in a battel royal with Gingka and his friends before leaving to seek out the points required to enter the tournament. Through a series of wins and losses, Hikaru earns enough points to enter the Battle Bladers main tournament. Unfortunately, her opponent in the opening round is Ryuga. When the time for her battle arrives, her resolve falters when she senses Ryuga's overwhelming power. She still goes through with the battle, and uses Infinite Assault, but Ryuga uses his Special Move, Dragon Emperor Soaring Bite Strike blowing her and Aquario away along with a chunk of the arena. With her power drained by Lightning L-Drago 100 HF, Hikaru remains in a comatose state for the rest of Battle Bladers. In Gingka's final battle against Ryuga, Hikaru, along with Kyoya Tategami and Tsubasa Otori, shield him from any physical damage and let Gingka know that he can not fight force with force. They are all revived from their comas from their battles against the Dragon Emperor. Gingka even defeats Ryuga, but at the cost of losing Pegasus. But in the celebration, everyone looks to a brighter future for Beybladers everywhere. She is then seen celebrating Gingka's victory in the final episode.

Beybattles[]

Although Hikaru had a great start, surprising and defeating the face hunters and Kenta, she began to lose a lot and, to be honest, didn't get very far from the secondary characters with the generic beys. However, she still managed to earn 50,000 points and get into the Battle Bladers, where she lost to Ryuga and that was the end of her blader career.

Trivia[]

  • She owns Aquario 105F in the manga.
  • Hikaru used to have a serious voice in Metal Fusion, but in Metal Masters, it became calm. It later changed to her serious voice sometimes, mostly when she sensed dark power and used Aquario again for the last time.
  • She, Kyoya, Benkei, Tsubasa and Yu were the only members of Gingka's gang to be former antagonists.
  • She makes many appearances with or alongside Hyoma.
  • Hikaru was the only female Blader that was able to enter Battle Bladers.
  • She shares Aquario 105F with Mei Mei.
  • Hikaru is a Japanese word meaning "to shine".
  • Hikaru shares her name with Hikaru Hizashi from the Burst series.
  • Hikaru's Japanese voice actress later voiced Valt Aoi in the Burst series.
  • She is the only Blader in Beyblade: Metal Fusion to use a karabiner launcher grip.
  • In episode 46 of Metal Masters, there is an animation error that shows her launching Aquario 105F instead of Storm Aquario 100HF/S.
  • She developed Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after her ordeal with Ryuga, evidenced by her decision to give up Beyblading and her distressed reaction upon seeing L-Drago again.
    • Although she has given up Beyblading on the whole, she does still use her Bey occasionally. For example in episode 46 of Metal Masters she uses Aquario to hold off some of Hades security which allowed Gingka to board Hades City in time.
  • It is unknwon if she ever knew that Gingka had a cold which is why Kenta fought her in his place.
