Plot
Helios introduces himself and his greek heritage. How his grandfather, Bakim raised him from a young age and his faint memories of his parent’s mysterious deaths. How part of his past (from the movie) impacted his ambition with outer space, working for NASA at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. His hobbies that influenced his career including his friends and crewmates aboard the STS - 136 mission.
He hosts a small party at his townhouse, inviting his crewmates and friends. The team tries out NASA’s tabletop RPG game, The Lost Universe. Ryan, the geek tabletop nerd he is, blabbers about key details and assigns a playable character to every teammate. Curious about the silver haired blader’s surfboard collection, Yureneva tries out to balance on a Pyzel Shadow, helpfully held by Helios. Softly chuckling, she questions his love for surfing as he elaborates his first time he got into shredding across the waves. He even teaches her the exact movements to zig zag across the waves turning hips left and right. He even shows her the paddle and stand up movement right before dropping into a wave. Belly on board, Yureneva attempts the cobra position, releasing a tiny drag. Everyone laughs in hysterical joy at the sound of the chubby female’s accidental fart.
They rewatch the STS 136 mission, the opening movie depicting the summary of the mission accompanied by the ambient Illenium x Said the Sky track, I See You. Yureneva remarking funny moments such as the return of her socks aboard the ISS. The crew aroused in heartous laughter. Ryan mentions how he ended up in a tangled mess with the cables that were hooked to the control panels in Truss 0. Helios follows last. A small video call with Aleksei and Team Lovushka follows: “Greetings STS 136. Well, except for you Brezenska.” Laughter from others. Aleksei discusses NASA's latest program, SETH (Spatial Enigma Time Horizons) to the crew. After the party ends and the crew wishes him a farewell, Helios cleans up leftover food, plates, cups, and confetti. After a short bathroom break, he finds a mysterious girl who claims to be targeted by an occultic sun group.
The girl introduces herself as Krista Lenz and continues to wordlessly stare at Helios. The Sun Blader urges her to speak up, noticeably intrigued by her sudden presence. After introducing himself, Helios suggests to Krista that they spend time with each other. Krista yawns and asks him if she could stay over for one night. Helios accepts and allows Krista to stay over as long as she likes. Helios and Krista tour around KSC, introducing her to every knick knack attraction at the visitor complex and mission control centers. Overjoyed, Krista deeply adores Helios’ love for space, the two return home to watch two space themed movies: Gravity and ISS. Helios receives a text under the STS 136 chat, Ryan announces that he’s in Huntsville, Alabama, visiting the US Space and Rocket Center. Skye announced that she’s landed in Rochester, Minnesota a day ago and is already having fun with her family. A selfie with her family on Lakeridge drive surprises Helios and Krista.
Helios teaches Krista how to surf. During their sessions out at sea, they befriend another local, Yuval Skandera after an accidental collision on a barreling wave. Both Yuval and Helios befriend each other, the two surfers continuing to teach Krista. During a small pause, Krista and Yuval begin to converse with each other while Helios boredly bobs up and down in the water. After several trial and errors, they both visit the Tiki Bar for a dine out.
They attend an Illenium concert in Orlando. Helios introduces to Krista how it's like to blend into the breathtaking atmosphere of EDM. A Sunfoot soldier spies on both Helios and Krista within the crowd. He notifies a certain leader of the cult about his grandson’s presence in Orlando.
Krista notices that the red Solara is absent from the driveway. Helios returns with a 24 can pack of Celsius. They both set their respective beyblades: Sol Blaze and Vesper Luna next to each other. The silver haired blader’s trace playlist kicks on as the two build a LEGO Saturn V rocket together, Paint and Trade activity, Krista is curious about Helios’ PS2 and his surf games, Pasta and wine dinner (Date Night Carbonara with ham, cheese, and tomato / Chardonnay wine)
With Krista gone for the day, Helios spends the rest of his day watching For All Mankind when a jet black sedan pulls up in front of his driveway. Window rolled down, the man reveals himself as Bakim, his nefarious grandfather that used to plan to rebuild Atlantis by razing the earth with an asteroid from his space ark. The first few hours seem innocent enough, with Bakim questioning Helios of his surfboards and his choice of beverage: Celsius. Bakim slowly reveals the true nature of Helios’ parents.
Numbed about his past, Helios grows berserk and knocks everything over in rampage. His completed LEGO Atlantis II. His red anodized launcher grip and beylauncher. And several empty cans of Celsius. Fiercely eyeing his weakness, the silver haired blader grabs a few more cans from the pack, obsessively chugging down the energy drink. After a few phases of its notorious side effects, Helios rushes to the bathroom, puking uncontrollably. Krista arrives home and gasps in shock to find Helios moaning tiredly, his head resting on the toilet lid.
Krista offers to clean up the whole fiasco, questioning Helios of his sudden breakdown with the cans. He remarks about his grandfather’s visit, where Bakim mentioned about the true nature of his parents: nefarious, cold, uncaring, selfish. Krista continues to comfort Helios, running a hand through his silver spiked hair while the blader rests his head on her lap.
Both Helios and Krista check in to the Launch Control Center at KSC. Greeting his fellow workers while Krista admired model scales of iconic shuttles and rockets in glass displays, the silver haired blader is met with Ryan Faulkner and Skye Robinson, fellow crewmates aboard STS - 136. They’re just on a visit, touring around KSC for fun and admiring the iconic wall of fame where every mission badge was recorded and framed around a wooden shield. The two join the tour, walking around clearance ground where the space shuttle Atlantis II stationed horizontally like a fighter jet at the Launch Complex 39. The majestic spaceship carried them from Earth to the ISS in a matter of 8 min before returning back to ground like a normal plane in a matter of an hour. Robinson reminded Helios of the borrowed heat shield tile from poor Atlantis II, the silver haired blader promised to return it once he wrote all of the specifications down. That’s when Krista discovers his NASA ID card, complementing his cute babyish face. Helios blushes, muttering a ‘thanks’.
The NASA staff surprise the crew with a picnic party happening at the barn (VAB / shuttle hangar). Yureneva appears with Team Lovushka, both space teams sit on the delta shaped wings of Atlantis II, snacks and cans in hand while watching Space X Crew Dragon launch with SETH attached. They unintentionally bump into Yuval and Heather Skandera at a Subway, who by turn of surprise bumps into them. Yells of joy and exchanged introductions gets the group touring around the Visitor Complex. They circle around the original Atlantis shuttle, currently suspended from the ceiling beams with a set of metal wiring. After getting some gift shop goodies, the group depart, leaving Krista to be dropped off back home by Yuval and Heather. Helios walks to his office upstairs in the Operations Support Building II, only to be surprised and shocked at a mysterious figure perched at his desk.
The silver haired blader fiercely questions Bakin’s unauthorized entry into the perimeter. His grandfather smiles mischievously and calmly reminds him of his life goal. Helios remarks that reviving Atlantis is not his cause. “The space shuttle has already been retired, there’s no need to revive the real Atlantis.” Bakin stares critically in his sapphire eyes, telling him about an unanimous surf contest in Miami. Helios crumples the event flier, critically staring, teeth gnashed in anger. Bakin reminds Helios to be there as he wordlessly leaves his office.
Helios and Krista prepare for their 3 hour road trip to Miami Beach. In the middle of the trip, an Eagle Talon unintentionally blocks their path, attempting to lure them in a carjacking. They successfully escape the scene. With their stuff packed up, they drive south down towards their destination, checking into the Beach Place hotel. Both bladers settle into their room, feeling exhausted from the 3 hour drive. Helios wordlessly sips on another can of Celsius, the Astro vibe flavour, before bubbles of small belches rumbled from his throat. Krista remarks about the Solara being a brave car, managing a trip in one go under 3 hours. With only his Channel Islands Dumpster Diver shirt and navy blue shorts on, the silver haired blader mellowly smiles before teasing her with a little squeaky wind. Krista playfully gags, laughing in delight. Helios follows after, muttering an apology. Noticing that he was sitting on his wallet which caused Krista to laugh even more. Slightly embarrassed, he placed it on the nightstand, allowing Krista to snuggle with him.
Staring at the ceiling, Krista curiously asks about Helios’ past and his conflicts with his grandfather, Bakin. The silver haired blader elaborates how he used to be part of the Sunfoot cult and was manipulated by Bakin’s orders to battle Gingka and draw energy from Pegasus to redirect a meteor crashing on course towards Earth. He also mentioned how his Beyblade, Sol Blaze, was the sun god artifact unlocked by Dark Poseidon in the lost city of Atlantis, capable of producing dangerous weather patterns around the world.
Puzzled about Bakin’s request and promise of a Surf competition at the beach near his hotel. The female blonde catches his light snoring and mutters about his morning breath. Helios blushes and watches Krista fall back asleep. He slowly prepares his surfboard and gear without waking Krista up. Unzipping his Dakine surfboard bag, he brings out his Channel Islands Pro board with FCS II fins, an FCS Freedom Helix leashed around his ankle. Dressed in an Oceantec wetsuit, the humid temperatures got him confident to practice his surf techniques across the waves.
While shredding across North Pointe beach past 12, Helios unintentionally drops in on a wave with three other surfers who seemed like they belonged to a gang. Verbal insults were thrown back and forth into his face: “What are you doing here, kook? Piss off!” / “Move out of the way, f**king c**t!” / “You’re a piece of shit surfer that drops in on our asses every wave.” A brawl ensues throughout the water’s surface. One of the men attempts to hold his foot down on Helios’ face in shallow water. Bubbles escape the silver haired surfer’s mouth as Helios helplessly writhes across the sandy floor, sending grains of miniscule sand everywhere, some of them stinging in his eyes. No one was around. Not even a lifeguard.
They decide to drive an unconscious Helios to their camp in an undisclosed alleyway. The homeless men roughly push him on his back against a discarded mattress next to the dumpster and fiercely intergotiate him about his reason for trespassing their turf. The Sol Blaze blader in return calls them territorial idiots and returns the question: Why are you people here in the first place? That earned the other two kooks to break Helios’ surfboard, abusing the fiberglass and foam in half. One of them finds the silver haired blader’s wallet, pocketing his cash and cards while poking fun at his NASA Mission Control ID card. One of the female cronies tease the card. The others laugh in delight. Snapping it in half with a fence cutter, the rest of the kooks find the rest of his personal stuff.
Krista finds the two kooks circling suspiciously around Helios’ Solara parked beside the wharf near North Pointe, beaming a light through every window. Shattering both windows with a brick, they proceeded to steal his remaining surfboards, gear, and even the SSA2’s heat shield tile he was supposed to return to KSC. Ignoring the safety theft alarms that pierced through the air, the kooks dash off, fleeing the noisy scene. Krista rushes over to find the keys to the car dropped beside the curb, raising it to halt the alarm. She sets off to find Helios by asking a couple of nice local surfers by the beach to see if they saw him. They shrug their shoulders, honestly replying they never did. Cursing, she went ahead and asked more people. One of them thought Helios went missing and advised her that she can file a missing person report through the local police station. She decided to call Yuval. He too had no clue where Helios went to.
Helios is still kept captive by the asshole kooks, continuing to discover his personal items: 24 can pack of Celsius, his remaining surfboards, surf gear, his wetsuit that stunk of sea salt and algae. One of them being his prized possession: Sol Blaze V145 AS and his Beylauncher on Grip. The kooks’ eyes widen in surprise, uncontrollable laughter howling across the alleyway. “Can you believe it? This idiot kook plays with spinning tops!” More laughter arouses between the two, unaware of the beyblade pulsing in radiant heat. They launch Blaze toward Helios’ cheek, ridiculing him with incessant laughter. Ditching the beyblade, the kooks continue to physically beat him up with their boards, fins gashing across his cheeks and throat. Bruised forehead, blood trickling down his lower jaw, and two black eyes knocked Helios into lifeless pulp.
The kooks hoist up Helios and drive him to the docks of North Pointe, where an enormous Space Ark was docked at the edge. They present themselves to the Sunfoot Soldiers, who in return, board the silver haired blader on his grandfather’s vessel. They travel to an uncharted island west of Florida, setting foot on base: crystalized caves inhabited with a flock of bats and shining lizards basking across the rocks.
Helios is met with Bakim, forcing him to return to the Sunfoot cult. A statue of Poseidon with a trident raised in triumph critically stares back at the two. The silver haired blader refuses. Forced to go through a blood oath, the Sunfoot soldiers slice the tip of his index finger open, a trickle of blood bubbling out.
They bring Helios’ finger closer to the paper, drops of blood dotting the surface like a scatter plot. Upon refusal, Bakim signals to the Sunfoot Soldiers. In return, they raise a Celsius energy drink tainted with blood, and forcefully chugs it down Helios’ throat. Tears leak from his eyes, his throat gagging against the pulsated chugs of sucralose and iron grinding down his esophagus. His pupils wildly dilate as if summoning Blaze Execution. After a loud and uncomfortable belch, the silver haired blader collapses in front of his grandfather, muttering his refusal to join the Sunfoot soldiers.
Bakim signals to the rest of the Sunfoot soldiers to take him away towards a small prison cell within the ark. 5 soldiers drag Helios towards his undisclosed location, locking him up behind bars. One of the soldiers pauses to stare at the dead beat silver haired blader / surfer, gazing sympathetically at him before leaving without a trace. Mentally stuck in his own misery, a series of memories flash through his mind. It was like getting flushed down a huge cosmic toilet. The cause of his parent’s deaths are unknown. His grandfather, Bakin helpfully aiding him with successful Beyblade launches.
After Helios’ forced interrogation with Bakin, the rest of the Sunfoot soldiers patrol around the Ark, maintaining the on board systems. The 4 sunfoot soldiers reveal themselves as Krista, Yureneva, Ryan, and Skye who secretly disguised themselves to save Helios from Bakin’s clutches. They scamper across the Ark’s labyrinth, running through expensive art galleries and animal enclosures. The silver haired blader unintentionally trips over the pig and chicken pen and accidentally faceplants against mud pies. It was like getting faceplanted against a trash bag. Helios groans in defeat, the sight of it causing Yueneva to hysterically laugh out of control. “You’re welcome, farmer Helios.”
“Thanks.” The silver haired blader rolls his eyes at the comment with a disgruntled sigh. Wiping and scenting his face clean with Solar Orange spray, Helios and the rest of the crew find a secret undisclosed room that was rumored to have a detonating device attached under Poseidon’s trident. The STS 136 crew assumed that Bakin used this to destroy the Ark after launching off into space according to his full proof plan. They later cross paths with several Sunfoot soldiers, Helios devising his plan to thwart them off with a Celsius grenade, pressurized cans of energy drinks dazzling in different flavours. "You've got some nice tricks there. Haven't had that much fun in a while."
Bakim furiously sends several Sunfoot soldiers to recapture his grandson.
They find the boarding dock tower, the shuttle already posed on the launchpad. Riding the elevator, Helios remembers that Madoka directed their last flight to space from the Ark’s control tower. With the several sunfoot soldiers behind the launch sequence, the elevator’s camera displays the live feed of the crew attempting to board themselves on the shuttle. The soldiers purposely halt the elevator. A rough screech rumbles the elevator to a slow dying halt, the overhead cables jerking the platform twice like a mini earthquake. The enormous glass pane displays the shuttle’s side, halting at “United States”, the American flag, and the NASA meatball logo.
Yureneva lightly panics as the rest of the crew devise a plan to flee the malfunctioned elevator. Helios sharply gazes at the emergency hatch door above their heads and convinces them that they scramble up the steel cables that hold the platform. Ryan finds that idea ridiculous, stating that Helios had to go back to training. Skye reminds them about their astronaut training and how much hardship and determination they had to go through: plunging underwater pools, outdoor survival, Zero Gravity plane tests, medical check ups, qualification exams. Brezenska whimpers with worry as she nods in agreement. One by one, they escape through the roof’s hatch door, carefully scaling the cables disabled of active static electricity.
With no time to waste, they discover that the platform connected to the open hatch door to the shuttle’s flight deck is retracting in warning. Yureneva is the first to be pushed forward, her heavy chubby weight slamming into the small flight deck. Then Skye, then Ryan, then Krista. Helios dashes last, only to grip the edge of the hatch door in fright. The shuttle rumbles during T - minus countdown, Bakin as Poseidon attempting to flick Helios from the orbiter with its trident. "A freaking dinosaur!? Don't be thinkin you can beat us now. This Beyblade is from Atlantis!" Helios yells over the burning rumbles of the launch. He had the option to launch Sol Blaze, the solar star in a ferocious fray against the Lord of the Sea.
At liftoff, the hydrogen burn off igniters are sparked across the gap between the main engine nozzles and the platform. All 3 cone shaped thrusters from Atlantis II coordinate inward, producing a shock diamond effect: blazing white fire flaring like a high speed rocket. The STS 136 crew members board the Atlantis II, unaware of how Bakin transported the shuttle from KSC to his Ark. With Yureneva’s help, they yank Helios inside before gravity could drag him down from the shuttle’s excelling speed. They catch their breath. That was a wild ride. The silver haired blader immediately replaces Skye as pilot.
After the shuttle launch, Helios as pilot, slowly rotates the orbiter around from its topsy turvey position. Robinson, as Flight Engineer, remarks that the shuttle’s aerodynamic wings could go awry if it was in a standard position. Helios briefly ignores her as he continues to pilot the shuttle, the twin rocket boosters madly flaring like a 4th of July firework. The twin rocket boosters and external fuel tank flare bright, the crew is followed by 3 Sunfoot fighter jets willing to take the shuttle down. Yureneva opens the emergency hatch on the shuttle’s flight deck, firing clusters of Celsius grenades on the jets. One of the fins on the shuttle obtained damage, Brezenska greeted with a scold from her team.
Ryan suggests ejecting the twin rocket boosters. Helios smirks at the brilliant idea. Yanking the steering towards him, the shuttle ascends in speed, riding the wind currents through the atmosphere. Yureneva clings to Skye with dear life, her eyes widened like saucers behind her glasses. The twin rocket boosters eject from the external tank. A Sunfoot pilot curses as both fighter jets collide into a beautiful explosion over the clouds. A third fighter jet is hot on their tail as Ryan warns out loud. Helios grins out his killer smile, “Time to put an end to this garbage!”
The silver blader pressed the transparent red button, an enormous click rumbled underneath the belly of the shuttle. Fragments and shards of brown aluminum lithium alloy shower across the sky as 33,000 kg of metal collide against the third jet, an exhilarating breath of flames streaking majestically across the dark sky, sparks of glowing embers fading off into the distance like a firework.
Atlantis II performs an R bar pitch maneuver (RPM), the shuttle performing a backflip. The crew confusingly questions Helios of this motive due to the fact that RPMs were only to be performed in lower earth orbit in track with the ISS. Helios barely hesitates, lurching the gliding shuttle towards the Shuttle Landing Facility, a distant gray runway strip. He yells over the rest of the screaming crew, warning to brace themselves for a rickety landing. Ryan immediately questions Helios’ freak move and calls him an idiot for piloting the shuttle the wrong way. Brezenska covers her eyes and yells “We’re all gonna die!”
Sweat and a surge of heated concentration swept over Helios’ confident face, pressing a transparent red button. The shuttle fails to deploy its landing gears and shakes violently against the turbulence. The HGD radar’s numerical levels rapidly rise and fall, as if the display was glitching. The underbelly of the shuttle screeches painfully across the runway, a cluster of red and orange sparks lighting the concrete. The shuttle slowly turned 90 degrees, the side of its aft fuselage and left wing slowly brought the orbiter to a dying halt. Smoke hisses across the damaged runway and the shuttle itself. Service vehicles surround the shuttle as the staff, VAB mechanics, and others aid the STS 136 crew to safety.
